NIDA releases online guide for early childhood prevention

The National Institute on Drug Abuse has released "Principles of Substance Abuse Prevention for Early Childhood," an online guide outlining key factors and research-based practices for the prevention of substance abuse and other behavioral and behavioral health problems in young children.

The guide, intended for parents, practitioners, and policymakers, includes sections on the importance of substance abuse prevention in early childhood, risk and protective factors, intervening in early childhood, research-based programs, and selected resources, among other information.
