Position Title: Assistant Director of Prevention (Full Time)
Location: Mental Health & Recovery Board of Clark, Greene and Madison Counties; 1055 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio

Salary Grade: 6
Salary Range: $58,892 to $87,382 Annually (FY 2020 Salary Ranges)
Reports To: Tracey Stute, Director of Treatment, Prevention & Support 


The MHRB is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Prevention to provide expertise in primary prevention, strategic planning framework, and program development. A master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline and three years’ experience preferred. Preference to certification through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCPS/OCPC). Knowledge about behavioral health policy and strong organizational, communication, and consultation skills required. Evenings, weekend, and travel are required.

Major Duties:

Provides leadership and direction to the prevention, early intervention, and health promotion activities of the Board across the lifespan. Provides oversight of prevention and early intervention planning, funding, and monitoring involving multiple system stakeholders on mental health and substance use issues. Develops and provides strategic direction to multi-disciplinary community-based coalitions for the three-county area with a goal of empowering local leadership. Participates in Agency Allocation process, community planning, programmatic reviews, continuous quality improvement activities, and other administrative duties. Writes budgets, grants, and program reports; tracks outcomes; and monitors activities and expenditures. Recruits and provides guidance to prevention professionals through learning community. Plan, promotes, and coordinates training and events. Assists Director of TPS with levy campaigns. Participates in Board meetings, writes recommendations, and creates meeting minutes/summaries. Utilizes collective impact, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented frameworks. Cross-training in treatment and recovery support activities such as linkage, referral, client rights, and postvention/crisis outreach response services in the three-county area. Performs any and all related tasks as assigned.
