DEPARTMENT: Meetings, Marketing and Communications

REPORTS TO:  Director of Communications

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supports the Director of Communications and the Marcom team in areas of communications, public relations, social media, project management, and logistics.


  • Assist Director of Communications and Marcom team with all communications projects, writing and editing;
  • Contribute to communications strategies including website content development, writing blogs and articles, and developing other content as needed;
  • Coordinate the day-to-day posting on multiple social media channels;
  • Lead on content development, publication and marketing of CADCA's weekly e-newsletter and print newsletter.
  • Write content for CADCA events including remarks, talking points, press releases, and marketing collateral.
  • Develop success stories for website;
  • Manage CADCA publications production;
  • Contribute to the development of content for CADCA's Annual Report and the 990 submission;
  • Provide copyediting for all major print and web collateral;
  • Manage CADCA's blogs- includes development of blogger schedule, all logistics, editing, and dissemination;
  • Manage the content of all CADCA online toolkits (e.g.,;
  • Engage in other special projects as recommended by the Director of Communications;
  • Assist, as needed, the VP Meetings, Marketing and Communications;
  • Manage media list development and media pitches for CADCA events and initiatives;
  • Track project effectiveness and timelines;
  • Build and maintain historical files for all communications projects;
  • Manage submission of monthly financial reports; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Solid research acumen;
  • Comfort with a wide range of social media tools and metrics;
  • Self-motivated and dependable;
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism;
  • Organized and enjoys creating systems to manage projects;
  • Able to handle sensitive information and documents with confidentiality; and
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and other required software programs.


  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)


Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or marketing required.  Must have at least 3 years of related work experience. Must have proven success in a fast-paced office setting. Previous non-profit or association experience a plus. Working knowledge of issues surrounding substance abuse prevention; alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related issues and/or cancer prevention issues beneficial.

WORK HOURS:          8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
