PreventionFIRST! (PF!) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit aimed at promoting wellness through the prevention of substance misuse. Located in Cincinnati, OH, PF! was founded in 1996 by Senator Rob Portman as the Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati, PreventionFIRST! is now the area’s leading regional drug prevention organization serving Southwest Ohio, Southeast Indiana and Northern Kentucky with a Metro Service Area population of approximately two million people. 

The work of PreventionFIRST! is comprised of a multi-faceted set of evidence informed programs, policies, and best practices designed to bring communities together to create long-term sustainable community change and to promote healthy behaviors.

PreventionFIRST! is searching for a highly skilled and motivated individual for the role of Program Coordinator.  The primary role of this position is to coordinate all youth empowerment strategies.  

Skills Desired:

  • Ability to motivate, engage and interact with a diverse cross-section of community members
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects  
  • Create, manage, and execute comprehensive short and long-term project work plans that incorporate multiple sectors of the community.
  • Evaluates process and project outcomes to ensure organizational goals are being met.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to facilitate volunteer community groups and training events.
  • Awareness of cultural diversity issues, especially regarding African-American, Hispanic and Appalachian communities and differences among urban, rural and suburban communities.

Other requirements:

  •        Proficient in MS Office (specifically MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  •        Experience in using social media strategies for outreach and engagement.
  •        Valid driver’s license required for frequent driving throughout the Tri-State.
  •        Flexible schedule to accommodate evening/weekend community meetings and activities.
