The Drug Free Communities Grant and Wood County Prevention Program Coordinator will provide management and coordination with multiple systems and entities within the Drug Free Communities Grant.  The DFC Program Coordinator will be accountable for creating and implementing activities and for DFC deliverables in accordance with the DFC guidelines, deadlines, and requirements.

Qualifications: 
Candidate must hold a minimum of a four-year degree in education, social work, criminal justice, human development and family studies, or other related fields, and either possess an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist’s certification or be willing to obtain one within two years.  Experience in budget management, grant writing, leadership skills, knowledge of drug prevention, and social media skills are preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:             
Remain abreast of current prevention education guidelines, policies, and directives at the federal, state, and local levels. Communicates with school administration, staff, and community on progress of prevention education programming. Represent the interest of youth by serving on various community and prevention related committees. Ability to implement effective management and leadership skills. Ability to create and oversee logic model requirements and activities. Implement good public relations activities and collaboration skills. Contribute to grant writing when appropriate. Submit appropriate data to the Prevention Education Director and Chief Fiscal Officer for all required reports.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as substance-free citizens. Help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values. Conducts other duties related to the Drug Free Communities Program Coordinator’s duties as assigned by the Director of Prevention Education Services and/or the Superintendent of the Educational Service Center.
