Montgomery County ESC 
: School Engagement Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Social Emotional Learning
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides administrative support, content leadership, implementation, and operational coordination to projects within the Montgomery County Prevention Coalition related to school-based environmental prevention strategies.
  • Oversees the implementation of the Schools of Excellence in Prevention Program, which provides schools with prevention subject matter experts and incentives to implement evidence-based prevention services.
  • Serves as a liaison to schools to increase public and professional awareness of issues that impact the understanding of effective youth substance use prevention.
  • Promotes and increases the commitment and support of school administrative staff, teachers, and parents for participation on the Montgomery County Prevention Coalition.
  • Works in conjunction with Coalition Project Coordinator to ensure school-based activities outlined in the Montgomery County Prevention Coalition Action Plan are completed successfully by due dates.
  • Works with Program Director/Principal Investigator, Project Coordinator, and Lead Evaluator to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related discipline; two years in planning, developing and/or implementing substance abuse prevention and/or mental health promotion programing; experience in volunteer recruitment and management is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Required: Preference will be given to an individual with substance abuse prevention experience and experience working with school administrators and staff; preference will go to individuals certified by the state of Ohio in substance abuse prevention; experience in PC software to include Word and Excel is required; strong computer and database experience extremely helpful; strong project management skills essential; experience with public speaking is required.

Personal Qualities: Interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, group facilitation and organizational skills, ability to handle sensitive data, proficient in handling multiple tasks, and the ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision
Amount of Travel/Special Conditions/Requirements: Driver's License, insurance, and operational vehicle required. Travel may be frequent including travel outside of the Dayton area. Travel to Washington, DC or other trainings as required.
Salary Range: $60,000.00

Position: 260 day ( Year round)
Hours per day or week: 40 hours per week, overtime exempt due to salaried status.
