Coping with stress during the pandemic

About: This one and half-hour online session will provide information on how to integrate the Hispanics and Latino cultural traditions and beliefs into effective clinical treatment during the pandemic. Also, this training focuses on enhancing the awareness and abilities of mental health care providers in their use of cultural elements by promoting the use of culturally appropriate formulations when treating Hispanics and Latinos presenting with mental health conditions and stress during the pandemic. This training is informed by current research findings on the impact of trauma and cultural factors on the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders and on the therapeutic relationship. Strategies for mental health providers that serve Latinos with difficulties coping during the pandemic will be provided.
